Effigy was at the same spot he and Dr. Shape met. They had agreed to meet here so Effigy could set up shop in the pocket dimension. He was early as always, waiting for what was to come mind already racing over potential research.

A portal quickly formed and opened at the rendezvous spot, a yawning Indrid stepping out in front of Effigy; the scientist's hands were in his pockets as he stood there in his usual attire.
Indrid never left the spot where they first met, only spending the days in his realm at that exact location out of view, biding time until their next meeting.
"Ready?"

Effigy would give a soft smile as his new partner emerged, curious as to if he just woke up or never went to sleep.

After hearing that he was indeed ready, he walked back through the portal into the Acreage Realm. If Effigy followed, he would find himself in a seemingly infinite separate dimension with platforms of all sizes scattered around, on each platform a series of tables, on others, housing items like beds and sofas. "Welcome. Let's get down to business," Indrid said with a grin, taking off his jacket and throwing it off the side of the platform into the darkness. "You can set up anywhere you want. I'll give you something so you can enter here whenever as well. Now... What do you need to know?" |

Effigy would take a look around. It was impressive to say the least. A massive place that without plant life or natural light still managed to be hospitable. He would make his way over to a large emtpy space as he took a look around.
"Mostly the rules of this place. After that I would like to know what you want me to begin with. Maybe some short term goals and long term goals. I'll build from there."
He would say as he continued to look around, making mental measurements.

Indrid nodded, making his way to a table to lean against it. That was a good start and an easy enough thing to answer. Yawning he began to explain. "This dimensional realm of mine is personalized to fit a finite amount of space. I can control every platform here, and the bottomless drop between each one is infinitely bottomless. There's no weather or anything, but it can be created if you have that power," Indrid would then toss a drone towards Effigy. "That will allow you to enter whenever and wherever you want. When you exit, you'll be at the same place you entered from. That's the general jist of things you need to know for now."
Sighing as he finished the first part of his little speech, he turned to pull out a journal, setting it on the table as he began to work on some nearby tech. "I want you to serve as my personal doctor. I'm not human, so if your work can be implemented into my Mania Core, I want it on. I believe it to be trivial to my own project's development of bringing her back. Now what can I do for you?" Indrid questioned, unsure as to what exactly Effigy themself was up to. Whatever it was, he of course was entirely on board. It was only fair.

Effigy listened and nodded along. When talking about this dimension he would speak saying
"I am well aware you do not need me too mention this, but this whole realm is quite an impressive innovation. I am going to have fun exploring it."
He would catch the drone and examine it for a moment, curious of it's makeup.
At the next part of his speech he would smile, this was certainly the part he was interested in hearing.
"I'm glad to do this for you. In my world, I specialized in providing care for beings with unique biologies."
Finally there was one more thing to address.
"I have a few goals. I want to learn how to take and utilize the powers of others, I want to improve upon my plants and their abilities, and I want to continue my research into occult objects."
With that his hair would begin to glow. He would wave a hand and plants would begin to grow out from him first in a 25 meter range, but eventually condensing down to a managable space.
"These plants are going to be the start of it."

"It was my sister's idea, this place. She's smarter than me," Indrid would say in response to the dimensional compliment, not bothering to look at Effigy. The topic of his relative was one that would trigger him more than anything else.
"Plant life biology perverted with the powers of others to use or improve the usage of occult objects?" The white haired scientist turned, crossing his arms. "What a project. I can see it's uses and how I could help you with that. That research could also benefit me of course. I'm glad our interests align."
Indrid would watch the plants grow with interest and with a smile. "My short term goal right now is to make my Mania Core perfect. What's yours? We can start working on your goal first."

Effigy would smile and nod along.
"Indeed. Occult science is a field I am interested in developing. If magic, ghosts, and other such phenomena are going to be common place here, it would be immensely beneficial to discover their rules and utilize the seemingly infinite potential corelated to it."
When he heard it related to his own goals and inevitably was asked what his own short term goals were, Effigy would smile.
"I have 2. One is to collect cursed objects, the other is to train my powers. The stronger I get, the more I can implement into your core."

"Perfect then," Indrid replied, very satisfied with what he heard. He wasn't into the occult series, but he knew there were things out there that simply confirmed the existence of such things, so of course a dimensional scientist like himself could aid in the field. "To improve your skills, I need a benchmark." Drones hissed to life around him as two hovered near his sides. "Then we can begin work on edging out your weaknesses and fine tuning your special powers."

He would nod before giving a response. Lifting his hand towards the flowers, causing them to bloom bigger and glow with iridescent pastels.
"These plants are actually an extension of myself. My body... well my hair... it..." he would pause, obviously uncomfortable admitting this before slowly continuing.
"It produces infinite reserves of life force. instead of causing my cells to multiply and give me constant tumourous growths though, It flows out into these plants. They then learn to adapt and absorb the energy of other things to create various uses."
He would turn with a nervous expression. "Would you like to see a full demonstration?"

Raising his hands, he laughed, a sadistic grin developing on his face. His pride and joy, his work, was finally producing some quality specimen, and this particular one shared almost all of his interests, and he his.

Effigy would stand back in the middle of the flower garden, waving a hand which caused them to glow.
"I would prefer it, saves me the energy." He would say with a soft, secretive grin of his own.

A drone would hiss over to Indrid's left, beginning to charge up with purple energy aimed right at Effigy. "I'm ready whenever you are," Indrid said with a smirk.
"Energy is such a valuable resource, but luckily we have plenty of it here."

Effigy's hair would glow, and blue flowers would begin to grow in his little garden. Auddenly vines and overgrowth would grow rapidly, both obscuring Effigy from view and making the terrain incredibly difficult to traverse.

Mouthing the word "interesting", Indrid fired a purple lazer at Effigy with zero intentions to hold back, standing exactly where he was. If his doctor and fellow scientist died, that just meant they were disposable and useless to him.

As the lazer entered the area, spores would glow purple and the lazer's power would seem to diminish significantly. it would crash into the bushes making a hole that was quickly filled. Then, new pink flowers would appear. His voice would come from somewhere in the garden seeming to change location with each sentence.
"The plants absorb energy. Then adapt to it and implement it. The longer it takes to find me, the more difficult this is going to be."
Just then the thorns in his brush would take on a purple glow, now looking like the lazer they got the energy from.

A pretty neat trick, but it wasn't something Indrid wasn't familiar with. Absorption and voice throwing were fundamentals in the school of worldly mechanics. Slowly clapping his hands, he returned them to their pockets.
"Right, right. I'm not even going to try."
Commanding the dual drones beside him to charge again, he made them fire a continuous beam of energy in random directions, the drones and beam moving clockwise around the many flora. The intent: haze everything down.
"You'll have to show yourself eventually, and absorbing tactics always have a limit!"

The flowers would successfully be burned down, only to quickly grow back, more resilliant to that form of attack. Though this did not quite fix his predicament of not getting hit. He would instead decide to throw some vines up at the drones, striking at them with the new energy bladed thorns.
"Good thing these are plants and not a battery. They are always expending energy, meaning they need more. The more you give the more they grow. When they die, they produce seeds with the energy they stored, evolving more rapidly than any species before it."

Quickly giving the command for the drones to shut off, Indrid scoffed at himself. He really should have seen that predictable moment coming. "Fair game, fair move, fair play, Doctor."
Moving to another table, he leaned against it hands in his pockets. "As of now, I have no way of dealing with that. I'll yield," he admitted with a smirk.
