"Paya? Like papaya?" They asked with a tilt of their head. They seemed to lean slightly into her touch, like a cat, but it would be difficult to tell if that was intentional or just part of their strange body sway.

"No, like Paya," she said, patting their head before pulling her hand away. "But if I'm a fruit to you, then so be it."

Pippin giggled slightly at that. "You're not a fruit, silly. No more than I am a hobbit."

"So you're a hobbit. Then what am I?" She asked, returning her gaze to them.

"A monster. Just like me!"
They turned to Paya with a wide smile, their eyes sparkling, like a child who had just won a carnival game.

She couldn't help but smile at that.
"Monsters attract monsters, I guess."

"Well, duh! Monsters are on a whole 'nother plane of being! We're like Aryans, only ACTUALLY superior!"
Pippin giggled, then gave a slight shake of their head.
"Only monsters can understand a monster's genius~"

"What makes a monster, in your eyes?" She asked, curiously turning her gaze to them again.

"A monster is a societal standard. Probably one of the only ones that I agree with." They giggled maniacally for a moment, thinking about the depth of what they had said. It was as if they had to counter their intelligence with giggles and distant eyed gazes, if only to try and fool people not brave or smart enough to see through their ruse.
They turned to look at Paya, their eyes alight with childlike glee. "I find things worth finding and do things worth doing, and people can't understand me... or you... They can't see the big picture, so they don't UNDERSTAND it... and people fear what they don't understand."

"Fear is the keyword here," A menacing smile stretched across her lips, and her golden eyes seemed to dim a few shades, settling on an eerie blood orange.
"Society can't survive without fear; it needs it to thrive. Why do we have locks on our doors? Why do we have guns? Why do police stain every corner of this god forsaken world? Fear. Fear breeds fear, which breeds anger, which breeds violence, which breeds triumph, and eventually... growth. Those who refuse growth or are too weak to obtain it, die." She spat, a low growl humming in her throat.
"Fear creates this irrationality that is only satiated by other irrationalities. Like religion. It relies on a false sense of security, this naive hope, this need to blindly follow orders by people who pretend well enough to make sense. In my opinion, those are the real monsters."
She sighed, giving an erratic shake of her head. She was beginning to sound a lot like her.

Pippin followed alongside Paya as she spoke, that bounce still evident in their step, that brilliance still making their eyes almost unnaturally glow. They nodded along enthusiastically with everything she said, even humming softly in agreement a couple of different times. They didn't seem to have much to add to the conversation, however, staying quiet as they listened.
To the less informed, it would almost seem as if they were just numbly, dumbly agreeing with her... but that gleam, that almost predatory confidence, was there just beneath the surface. They seemed care-free, innocent in the way their body moved, but there was a certain level of control that belied the childlike behavior. Control, being both mental (as if the world was holding its breath, just waiting to see what they would do) and physical (the way their body seemed to do exactly what was expected of it). All of that was evident, just beneath the surface, where most people didn't bother to look.
They turned to look at Paya as her monologue came to an end, and flashed her a wide, toothy smile. They reached out and made a motion, as if to grab Paya's hands between her own, but made no contact with the woman. "Fear is fun, though. It's such a primal, base level emotion! It's like, when somebody is really, truly afraid, they return all the way back to their very core!"

Paya stared at the strange childlike...entity for a moment, her irises swirling with the ceaseless war between Yin and Yang before that eerie golden glow returned to them, her pupils like that of a patient yet vicious snake. She reached a hand over their head, curiously, before resting it atop. She ran her fingers through their hair in one swift, brief motion, before pulling away it away.
"You're an anomaly," she rasped, "I like that. I like things that are different, things that don't belong. Normally there's a cause for such things, a catalyst. It makes me wonder who, or WHAT, planted you here,"
She shoved her hands in her pockets, glancing over to them again. The idea that there were strings attached to them, that something controlled them oh so carefully and calculated, waiting to see how they would respond to whos, whats, whens, wheres, whys, and hows...
The very thought made her want them very, very badly.
