Indrid wrapped his red scarf around his neck once more, watching the transparent specter before him kneel down in a bed of newly grown white roses. He didn't know why they were here but he trusted his sister's judgement. That, however, didn't mean he instantly understood it. "Sister, what is this?" Indrid exclaimed with an annoyed tone. It was in the middle of the day, yet there weren't many in the park, only the quiet humming of birds, yet not hummingbirds, and the silent waving of grass blades. Aarica turned her head towards the standing doctor, a rose in hand.
"I heard rumors of a flower that cannot wilt. It must be connected to the other side, if it can resist death so..." Her speech was careful, concise, clear, unlike the rushed tone of her brother. Indrid said nothing, instead staring silently on from the bench he was sitting on. "You're quiet today." Again, he said nothing, closing his eyes and crossing his arms. he buried his face in his thick scarf while Aarica approached with the flower in hand.
"Does such a thing even exist, Aarica?" Indrid asked solemnly.
"It's best to ask someone who knows more in this field," she replied, "You didn't quite pass any form of flora class." At the remark Indrid scoffed, his face balling up in a stupor of irritation and embarrassment. Averting her eyes, Aarica noticed someone approaching. "Look, here comes someone now. Let's ask them."
"And if they know nothing?"
"Their Nen will be of use to us I suppose." The sound of studying more cheered the silver haired man up enough for him to sprout a small smile, earning one from Aarica in return. getting up with newfound vigor, Indrid stood beside his ghost of a sister and looked at the approaching person with piercing, cyber velvet eyes, full of eagerness.
"Greeting stranger," they both said in unison, "we are Dyadic..."
"And we want to know if you know anything about a forever flower." Aarica finished, flicking some of her long silver hair away from her one good eye. "It would aid in our research."

Faythe was on her way back from the market in her basket, which was strapped across her shoulders with two stripes over and across her chest, stuck out plenty of rather large plants including vegetables and greens. She particularly smelled like mint and lemongrass today. Her hair was braided on either side of her neck parted down the middle and she wore a large brimmed sun hat. Her outfit was long sleeves and the shirt was relatively form fitting but her skirt was maxi length barely peaking under were moccasin style shoes.
She was slowly making her way carrying a bottle of water and drinking it when a pair stood before her obviously Altered and peculiarly behaved. Honestly she had not yet seen anyone more altered than these two and even after ten years this was rather different.
But their question was even more peculiar. She cleared her throat and tucked away her water bottle while undoing the basket on her back to put it down.
“Yes, im Faythe and Ah… you mean an Orpine?” She wanted to clarify.

Aarica looked at Faythe with interest, nodding in approval at her overall demeanor, attire, and confidence... this was indeed someone that knew what they were talking about, but Indrid wasn't having it. He stared at her with mixtures of disdain and boredom.
"Orpine? Yes, if that is what they're called," Aarica replied, a small echo present in her voice. "Are the rumors true? Do you know?"
"Are you the flower's creator?" Indrid asked suddenly, wanting to get to the part where he gets to look into and study the flower that may or may not have Nen it in. The cybernetics that made up his skin hissed to life, a faint purple glow to be seen if one was looking close enough.
"Orpines are very important to us. We are not as adept in flora as we are in other fields."

“I’m not sure I understand but I’m…” she chuckled a bit. “I’m certainly not it’s creator it is an old plant. But I have a couple of them at my shop if you’d like to have a closer look at one. They are great for calming stomach ulcers and a fun ancient fact… if they grew in a pare in a lovers honor then it was a bond everlasting.”
She picked up her basket and started again assuming these two would enjoy following her to see it for themselves. She was not entirely sure it was what they were looking for but she was happy to help either way.

Indrid and Aarica looked at each other before Aarica nodded, lingering behind to collect more of the roses that she deemed nice looking. With a grunt, Indrid began to follow Faythe.
"These love... ever flowers. If you aren't their creator... do they possess Nen so extraordinary it bypasses the natural laws of this world, piercing the continuum of time-space in a physical manner?" The words, while they flew off his tongue with absolute ease, made no real sense, not even to Aarica, but she understood what he was trying to say.
Suddenly, Aarica appeared beside Indrid as if she was following them the entire time.
"My brother would like to know if the Orpine truly creates a bond everlasting," Aarica explained, her arms full of white roses. Indrid shook his head.
"Sister, how can this person assist us if she doesn't know simple chemistry?!"
"Brother, that was not chemistry, please be patient and let her explain." She took a whiff of the flowers she obtained before returning her undead gaze to Faythe. "We thank you for helping us and inviting us to your shop," Aarica said quietly as Indrid remained quiet, staring and studying every inch of the person he considered a rather unremarkable stranger thus far. "We wouldn't even know the flower's name without your help."

“It’s far too new and hardly understandable to most in the current world. Nen is something that might be in all things some say others say it’s like a virus which will spread into all things.” She breathed deep, her pack was a bit heavy and she was growing breathless ever slightly from talking and walking.
“Is the Orpine an exceptionally Nen sourced flower? I’m not sure I can answer that, in truth my own Nen is… talking to plants but they have their own personal matters far above the likes of me. Let me take you to them and see if that or anything else might be found.” Her shop wasn’t far but around the corner from here.
When they did arrive they would see a front of the building which had three garage doors and a cris crossing gate to keep intruders out. She remote activated one of the doors and unlocked the side of the gate to just let herself and her guests into the shop itself. Along the back was her cosmetics and medicine, along the left side was garden supplies and along the left was more food and drink creation as well as books on the subject matters involving plants and science.
In the middle stood tables and wheeled shelves which held a great many plants ready for sale.
“They are in the backyard.” She would lead them across the store if they entered at all.

While Aarica was listening with absolute interest, Indrid was zoning her words out until she mentioned her own Nen, in which she had is absolute and undivided attention.
"Of course. Not many knows the secrets of Nen nor how it operates," Aarica stated approvingly. "I know personally it even transcends death-"
"Not for long." Indrid butted in, a grin on his face. "I will be the one to mold Nen how I please and reshape this world as it's god!" His voice's volume increased as he spoke as confident as ever, going on a tangent with himself that wasn't too audible to Aarica.
"The ability to talk to plant life, a wonderful and wonderous skill. I envy you," Aarica said, now leading her brother by his scarf; he was in a world of his own, a product of his shattered mind. As the trio arrived to the strange building, Aarica first inspected it, ensuring it looked safe enough for Indrid to enter before following Faythe across the store, eyeing everything they passed. She was on high alert. Anything she deemed a threat she would act upon... if Indrid perished, she would too, after all. "Faythe, whilst we are here..." Aarica began before stopping herself, looking at her unstable brother. A tear ran down her cheek she didn't bother to hide. "Never mind. We're right behind you."

She opens the door to the back which is the storage the extra inventory and her living space all in its size. She paused… aside from their personal interests and fun quirks. She wasn’t sure how serious any of it was. She looked to the sister and paused. An expression grew on her face one of sorrow and loving care.
“Oh you dear…” she paused and walked to her. Faythe wanted to wipe her tear away but she questioned if she could even touch the girl. She decided against it but her hands folded at her chest. “I can’t imagine what you are going through… but I know you are going through it and if there is anything I can do that might help… even a little… I’ll use all of my power to do it. That’s all I ever want to do. I have been helped all my feeble life by people who gave me more of themselves than they should have. Im in debt… me and my friends here… we are listening always.”
She waved a hand for them to follow. She unlocked the back and as she mentioned there was almost a cozy warehouse of product and supplies. Beyond where they were they would see her kitchen past a dimly lit door.
Finally through another door which she opened was a whole yard fenced and surrounded by a couple of taller buildings as a maze of plots and latticework all green and rainbow variations of veggies and blooms that swayed in the wind and full bright sunlight. “Just around this way.” She said.

Aarica simply stared as Faythe approached, remaining still, curious as to what she was about to do. She wasn't concerned about ill intent, but there was something about her expression that made the revenant lower her guard completely.
"You owe nothing Faythe. Consider your debt repaid when I'm finished making the perfect world, free from death and suffering..." Again, Aarica glanced at Indrid who now somehow acquired a few of the flowers Aarica was carrying, looking over it intensely with a scalpel in hand. She sighed, returning her attention to Faythe, knowing he was preparing an experiment of some sort.
"A world where my brother can live peacefully... I will take your soul there myself. But if we pass away before that happens, will you and your friends decorate our grave with beautiful flora?" Her gaze dropped to the floor as she continued. "...If we have a grave to begin with."
Finishing her request, she beckoned for Indrid to come as Faythe began unlocking a door. Indrid obliged, always a few steps behind his sister. As they entered the back, through even more passageways into more warmer, hidden away scenery, Dyadic looked in awe, both of their eyes enjoying the scene before them as if they rarely saw anything but a monochrome world.
"Aarica, this is what it will look like when I bring you back to life." Indrid said with sincerity. "This is just a fraction of what the perfect world looks like after the ashes settle. A world with me in control." Aarica smiled, still following Faythe. "I'll remain here, there's a few things I want to look at that would be beneficial to my work..."
"Alright brother." Aarica replied as Indrid began to inspect nearby vegetarian life. "I'm coming, Faythe. Please don't mind Indrid, knowing him he'll leave here with a newly discovered element... this is a very nice shop and setup you have hidden away."

She smiled wide and nodded. “You are a couple of characters alright… but I can tell how deep your love runs together and selflessly” Faythe breathed. “Even if it’s a cenotaph, I’ll erect it and make sure the life that grows is filled with that love and plants love that. I’m sure it will make them sing your story.”
She watched the brother leave from over her shoulder hearing what he said she paused. “Cut, pluck, or pick anything and I’d encourage you to have some payment.”
He’d find everything was labeled with dates of planted, types, families, and geniuses. All accurate and all clearly stated. None of it was in any particular order but they were section off with type of plant between flower, root, tuber, bush, vine, gourd, etc.
At the fence across the way there stood tall plants with tiny pink and white flowers on different stalks there were four total and they were proud and healthy. “These are the Orpines. I have two colors here and they require a great amount of sun.” She paused a moment and made a noise muttered under her breath. “I’ll be perfectly honest with you… people are looking for the flower that transcends life and death more and more. I don’t know if this is what you are looking for but I am curious as to how this rumor of this Nen flower came to be?”

Indrid turned towards Faythe, his eyes glowing purple, then back towards what he was looking at, deciding not to heed her words nor take action at the moment.
"I will take what I need, the payment will be your blood if you dare interf-"
"Indrid!" Aarica said, voice raised, cutting the young doctor off. Opening her mouth to say something else, she decided against it, instead staring daggers at Indrid, Indrid doing the same before relenting, averting his eyes. "I'm sorry, Faythe. Anything he takes we will pay for. Thank you for your kindness... and your words earlier..."
"These things are well organized," Indrid muttered to himself, reading each label and class, writing down what he saw. "This person must be an academic like myself..." While Indrid was preoccupied, Aarica looked at the flower they came for, the Orphines. Smiling, she looked at them from a distance. "They're beautiful," she said, her hand semi-outstretched as if she wanted to take one. Upon hearing her hushed words, Aarica matched her quietness. "I feel unaffected, so this may not be what we're after, but it looks like it in appearance alone. I believe the rumor started sometime after I returned from the afterlife and became connected to my brother... a few years ago, maybe more. Neither of us remember if we started the rumor ourselves, if it came to be when the first angel appeared, or if the flower somehow entered this world during... the incident. Indrid considers it apart of god's garden." For the third time, her gaze shifted to Indrid, but only briefly.

She pondered a bit on this new information. “That is peculiar, I guess maybe I’ll keep my eye and ear open if I find out anything more. Oh… I did mention these were used to predict a lasting bond between lovers by Greeks…” she looked between the two siblings. “Greece once had many names for different kinds of love. The fact that you two are bound and found this flower while on your adventure might symbolize that you are on the right path.”
She smiled kindly. “Between you and some others who have come to me I think it’s my own symbol to join the hunt for this flower as well. Maybe if I can cultivate and study it… then we can understand Nen and the Altered further.”

Aarica nodded in agreement, it was peculiar, even more so that she didn't know too much about what she and Indrid were attempting to find, but the mention of lovers made her freeze for a few moment. Laughing lightly to herself, she nodded once more.
"Perhaps... knowing we are on the right path, and the bond between us is sincere, is reassuring." Returning her smile, Aarica felt relaxed, truly. "I do love Indrid. Even during his mindless escapades. Is there someone who is precious to you?" It wasn't every day she met someone who didn't either attempt to harm Indrid or judged her undead nature. It also wasn't every day they weren't doing something the vast majority of humanity would consider immoral practices. "Regardless... We will gladly give you any new information we find about the flower. Indrid can help with the Altered study-"
"I don't have any more subjects, but that hot head who took your rib is a strong Altered connected to death, just like this flower. Unfortunately... I don't have any more test subjects for this escapade." Indrid rested his hands in his pockets, walking up to Aarica after being beckoned with the words 'study', 'understand', and 'Nen'.
"As I was saying, Indrid can help you find links and connections between the special flower and the Altered, and I can assist you find the flower itself. We will help. In all ways we can, as long as you don't mind us stopping by from time to time." Aarica told Faythe with a small smile. "The Orpine, how much for it?"

The bone thin woman grew a little pink in her stark white cheeks her white eyelashes blinked quickly as she shook her head gently. A hand covered her cheek and she couldn’t make eye contact any longer and her gaze turned a bit sad. “Oh someone special to me? Hm… if only.”
Faythe was uncertain of her future she was not in a great amount of health and those with her condition often don’t live a full life. She’d truly just be a great amount of trouble and leave a great amount of hospital bills behind for anyone she’d attach to her life. She dreamed big of romance but felt it was unreachable. And friends… she had a few but it was hard to keep contact when she stays inside and gets sick in a wink.
“You are welcome any time.” She looked at the plants and made a small calculation. “I’ll need a moment to pot it for you but I’ll let a pair go for twenty and throw in a pack of seeds I’ve collected from it for free if you’d have interest in those too?”

"Pursue someone, loneliness is painful, Faythe. Even if it is temporary... or if you both are destined for completely different lives after death..." With a giggle towards the sudden redness, she crossed her arms. "It's not for everyone. But I will be your friend. My name is Aarica Akalade. I am wherever my dear brother is."
Of course, Indrid was listening, but he said nothing, only irritated at the thought of Faythe knowing so much about his sister. Could this be used against him, against his work and experiments? He didn't know, but he had a hypothesis. Aarica did too, he bet, and so he didn't dare interfere out of respect.
"We have far more than twenty," Indrid said, looking at Aarica, who nodded.
"Yes, the Akalade inheritance we obtained was substantial. Do we have enough to sustain our own interests, needs and travels?"
"Yeah, we do... I'll need to make a few new calculations if you're going to do what I think you're going to do..." Indrid said, eyes narrowing. Aarica smirked. "You're doing what I know you're going to do."
"I am. It'll be beneficial to our work. Twenty and some seeds sounds perfect, Faythe. We also request to occasionally return here to recuperate in exchange for... half our family's fortune?" Indrid immediately choked on air.
"HALF- Aarica! In death you've lost not only your nerves but your mind too! Absolutely not. Never." Indrid was not about it, but Aarica was, and she was going to have her way today.
"Fine. half of that half's half then?"
"No-"
"Perfect. Faythe, expect something in the hundred thousands if it hasn't been stolen... we really should've collected all of it, but money isn't something that we deem that important." Aarica gave her new supposed friend, or ally, a smile. Indrid, the polar opposite.
"Women..." He muttered under his breath, looking around for something to do before finally looking at Faythe in full, his expression instantly changing to grief. He was a doctor, he knew she didn't look too good at all, and the sight reminded him of someone close to him that was already gone. "Fine..."

Trust me, I’ve given it thought. I know loneliness I can’t burden that on anyone. Or so she almost said but decided it was not for the best. She smiled with no small amount of love in her eyes. “It’s good to have a friend. My full name is Faythe Lyveaf.”
Faythe chuckled at the whole banter between siblings. She really couldn’t understand what it was like for them as she grew up a lonely child. It was hard for her parents to conceive as it was. Faythe was well loved and cared for, she was viewed as a blessing above all else to her parents. But Faythe saw when times were hard.
She went to a stack of plastic planters and grabbed a small hand shovel. She would work on getting their plants ready. Before driving a shovel into the dirt she caressed the plant themselves. “You’ll be in good care… I’ll hear you, I’m always listening.” She whispered it to them and with a quiver up it’s stem she smiled wide and it might have looked like the wind blew slightly in its sway. Her shovel drove deep in a wide circle so gently and carefully. She avoided critical roots of it and those around it.
“These plants are succulents, they don’t need a lot of up keep or really nutrient packed soil but they do need full sun so plant them someplace very warm and very bright.” She advised. “This one don’t particularly like heat lamps so keeping them indoors is going to be difficult too. Tried that when they were young and heard nothing but complaints.”
When they got to sharing their inheritance with her she tensed up. She dug her hands to the bottom of where she dug and pulled out a full solid bunch of dirt and root system that seemed to be more sandy than anything, before putting it into the pot. She faced them and waved a dirty hand in dismissal. “Oh no, don’t do anything like that. I’ve got everything I need here, business is good and it keeps me strong… enough to avoid atrophy. That’s the main reason I do it, it gives me plenty to do so I can maintain a body worth something.
She filled in the sides with extra soil to pack up and support the plant which was about ready for the siblings to receive.
“I’ve got a horribly weak immune system and my lungs as well as my gut health are sensitive. At the drop of a hat I could be in bed coughing up a lung. So I work because I end up in bed a lot and can’t eat much… it keeps me standing. Making my life easy by throwing easy money at me might just make me lose any excuse to work.” She chuckled.
She stood and lifted the plant with a grunt which was not terribly heavy but it was theirs now so she handed it to them. “Here it is, let’s go to the counter and get the seeds and ring you up.”

"Faythe Lyveaf," Aarica repeated to make sure she got it right, "I'll remember the name, friend." Dr. Dyadic watched as she made her preparations; Indrid watching without interest while Aarica stared with obsession, intending to take mental note of how Faythe treated the living thing and do the same once it was in their possession. Indrid looked at Aarica.
"Do we have a place for that?" He asked, thinking about how his realm is the definition of being shut in somewhere.
"Yes, I know of a place, they will grow well with plenty of sunlight." Aarica replied, making Indrid nod. One less thing he had to worry about if Aarica was this serious about the plant. "I'm surprised you don't get daily headaches... from the flora speaking to you all the time, all at once." Then, she said something that touched Indrid for the first time that day. His demeanor changed so much it made Aarica visibly tense, believing something was wrong, or that he sensed danger.
"To... maintain a body worth something, huh?" He said, quietly, but still audibly. He looked at his own body, self realization settling in. At any point, if hit hard enough, he will absolutely die. There was no if, and, or but about it. Everything he was working to do, all the pain he inflicted on others and had to suffer through himself... it would all be for nothing if some bastard got a lucky hit on him. Even a child's attack would be enough. "I... know the feeling..." His words were soft, absent of any sign of madness or immorality, selfishness or disregard. Placing a hand on his chest he continued. "This Core in my chest. I made it, but... it powers me and keeps this body- and it's enhancements- functional. It also keeps our souls intact. I understand your pain... Faythe, I'm just having difficulties explaining..."
It was the first time he acknowledged her as more than a flora expert. Aarica felt his shift in feelings, and she felt happy knowing the old Indrid was in there somewhere... even if it only showed with people who had it as bad as or worse than him.
"Don't worry yourself about it. Those details are supposed to be confidential," Aarica reminded Indrid, who became instantly upset. "Then again, it doesn't look like you care about that right now..."
"This woman could be... at any time... Agh... We're adding her to our plans!" Indrid proclaimed, angrily storming away. "Let's go!" He shouted back, steam emitting from his skin as the machines he was made up of buzzed to life. Aarica took the plant from Faythe with ease, carrying it with two hands carefully. Aarica gave Faythe a smile while on the verge of a small laugh.
"After you, and thank you for the plant."

Faythe shook her head. “When they speak they don’t necessarily speak to me. Sometimes it gets loud but… it is like street noise other times it’s like a feeling. You kind of grow used to it, it helps that at night most plants actually become dormant without the sun.”
Indrid had a look from up and down from Faythe and she understood what he meant. “Absolutely, I can see we have that in common.” In this moment she had a chance to see and completely understand what Indrid of Dryadic was going through. They both seem to be avid researchers and inquisitive minded. But to know one’s limits is a hard thing to accept, working around it when the world expects you to move at the same pace is determination.
Then they did their banter which Faythe was chalking it up to the language only they understand as siblings. And after she almost couldn’t hide the surprise on her face when Aarica picked up the plant. Given her corporeal form there was a question about how much her own body could handle.
“I’m happy to be of service.”
She would get to the counter and across the back of it had a shelf with many pockets she organized thousands of seeds in small envelopes and in alphabetical order here. She flipped through them as if they were CD’s in a music store and plucked a pack of the Orpine seeds handing it to Indrid. He seemed to want them the most.
“Alright… twenty as promised.” She smiled and started to ring them up. As she imputed their order I her register she had a thought. “Have you looked up important Flora in Lore? Something like Yggdrasil or maybe something about the Garden of Eden? Since the being appeared it might not involve such old world stories but… in the off chance that Nen is possibly a revival of old magic refreshed by the beings visit, then maybe…?” She looked to them hoping they understood.

Aarica couldn't stop herself from giggling at the surprise present on Faythe's face. She understood what was so surprising. Someone usually wouldn't think something like her, after all she's demonstrated- that is, the lack of interaction on the mortal plane- it was only natural, but she was far more rounded than she appeared. All to protect Indrid, her brother and now their primary body.
"I can affect and interact with everything here," Aarica explained, "however I don't feel pain, and physical effects have no affect on me." At last, after following Faythe back to the counter where Indrid was waiting impatiently, she waited beside him as he reached out for the seeds.
"At last..." Indrid said as his fingers wrapped around the seed pouch whilst giving her a nod. He reached into his pocket and outstretched his hand, the exact amount agreed upon present. He would wait until Faythe took what was hers before retreating a few steps back.
"Not yet," Aarica said answering Faythe's question, frowning at the sound of Eden's name. "If there was a connection to a place like the Garden of Eden, we certainly can't get there. Things like us aren't really welcome there if the angel guarding the place is as mighty as it seems."
"But you're onto something. If Nen is really the revival of primordial magic, and it remained after that being's visit, then that means there's someone living right now that has a "pure" version of it. An Altered that's not so watered down or..."
"A person that has a deep connection to items like the flora we seek... or even a connection to other Altered like them," Aarica finished for Indrid. "Nothing is out of the realm of possibility."
