[OoC: Each player is allowed to enter only one character. Rounds will move every 72 hours, or after every participant has posted. If you miss a deadline and fail to reach out to me, your character will be skipped, and may be subject to penalized rewards. Lastly, this event is set in soft hard mode, meaning your character cannot die, but they may be subject to permanent injury, status affliction, or temporary captivity. Lastly lastly, remember to have fun, and feel free to ask your favorite Tako any questions you may have! Happy suffering playing!]
News of a massive social gathering had quickly spread throughout Telluride City. First with flyers, then with online articles, then with the local news, and finally, with recognition from several aspiring celebrities, all advertising the same promise: Change. It was such a broad statement that many grew skeptical of the event taking place, however, just like propaganga, it was repeatedly announced that it was organized by the city's political offices, and was dedicated to uniting the people, human and meta alike, taking place just outside of City Hall. And so, despite the skepticism some held, it was believed that such an event was in good faith, and was an important contributor to the future of the city, if not the world. Whether it was appraised or skepticized, one thing could not be denied: it was a massive publicity stunt, and everyone in the city knew about it.
The event saw dozens, if not hundreds of people, gathered around a stage. On the stage were speakers, microphones, banners, and a large covered mass that would certainly see an unveiling at some point or another. There were barricades on either end of the street, tents and booths scattered throughout, and several instances of law inforcement ensuring behavior of everyone within the perimeter. It looked just like any political gathering or concert, except there was no one yet present on the stage.
It, whatever it was, was sure to begin any minute now...

Dymtre would be in the crowd it was loud and full of unique smells and sensations. It was unlike anything he had ever been in before. This was... amazing. He couldn't wait to see what would happen! The promise of unity between Meta's and non-metas! What an AMAZING goal to strive for!
(Has no idea what a publicity stunt is...)

Kisaiya stood beside Dymtre. She had no real interest in being here, and the crowd was already overwhelming her, but she had a bad feeling about this. People were moving as if the crowd were a living thing, and more than once, they had bumped into her. Glaring slightly at them, she shifted closer to Dymtre, playing almost idly with the necklace she never took off.

It was an unnerving feeling to not be with her usual group of friends at an event like this; Violet could only imagine what they'd be saying if they knew where she was now... She sighed, before resolving her expression to a gentle nostalgic smile. She couldn't help but admit to feeling a spark of anticipation as she exited the bus at the end of the street, making her way past the sturdy barricades. Violet came here with the impression that an event like this was only going to end in trouble, but who says she can't enjoy it for a while?

Effigy was there, but with a very tired look as he sipped some tea. The alleyways around the area had plenty of overgrowth. The idea being if someone were to try getting people to escape that way they'd get tripped and the alleyways would get too clogged to escape through. He was making sure to keep himself at the very back of the crowd, attempting to keep himself safe from whatever fuckery was going to occur as well as make it harder to escape it. Though he would play it off as just being awkward.
Other thing Effigy did was make sure he looked different. His hair was tucked into a hoodie in a way that made it look short, he also changed the color to make it appear blonde. He had a hat on and made sure his head was down and out of camera view.
If there were an event to ruin, it would be this one. He was not particularly a fan of Metas and realllllyyy wasn't a fan of non-metas. Even if peace were achieved it would be a lie and only used to hurt people. He was ready.

Amon'i stood behind Dymtre and Kisaiya, her hand planted on the pommel of her beloved sword as always. She was not a fan of social gatherings, especially not ones that welcomed so many people. However, it was was a simple sacrifice she was willing to make for the enjoyment of her angels. Hopefully, whatever was going to happen, it would be brief and not nearly as chaotic as she anticipated.

Soni stood at the corner of a building adjacent to the city hall. Now that she had gotten pretty settled into this world, she wanted to make sure she was more proactive in it than she was with the last; in her former world, she lived by the code set for her by Xapham. But now, now she was all alone. She had allies, of course, but no one to seek out as a leader. After all, she was 22, an adult that made her own decisions. Her decision now: to protect this world better than she ever did the last, and fight relentlessly against those who wish to harm it.
That started today, overseeing this gathering. Something was going to go down, she just knew; anti-metas wouldn't dare pass such an opportunity up. Now it was just a matter of stopping it and avoiding as much damage as possible. The bird's eye view would hopefully help with that.

A sudden hiss from the microphone was enough to lay a blanket of silence over the crowd, drawing a majority of the attention to the stage, where three people would walk through the curtain, and onto the main layer. The first took position on the left side, next to the stairs. The second took position on the right side, next to a red tent. The third took hold of the microphone, and began pacing along the stage. They all wore fancy suits, akin to that of politicians. “Welcome,” the woman rasped, “Thank you all for taking time out of your busy lives to acknowledge the everlasting problems of our city. Attacks on humans. Attacks on metas. Attacks on dormant creatures. An overall influx of criminal activity of which the portals are responsible. It’s a scary thing, living in this city, in this world. Unsure if it’s safe to go outside. Unsure if our loved ones will make it home safely. Unsure if certain death awaits us, just on the other side of a portal. In a blink, the world changes, and we’re expected to change with it,” the woman rasped, giving a slight shake of her head, and halting her pacing at the center of the stage, where she would then turn to face the crowd. “Change… that’s what I promised today, and I’m going to honor that promise to the best of my ability. I long for a future where all can be equal, where your importance is just as significant to the person next to you, where there is no torment, eternally plaguing our bodies and minds, demanding we submit to disaster, or something foretold as inevitable. A future… where we can decide our own fates, and be who we want to be, instead of what someone else wants us to be…” a low growl escaped her voice, and she shook her head again, slowly approaching the right side of the stage. “There’s nothing I want out of life more than peace… to cleanse this world of its filth and start it anew, to prevent world ending disasters from sweeping through, and tearing everything we’ve ever known away from us… and most importantly, to show them that we’re real, that our lives aren’t toys,” Then, she came to a pause, emitting a sharp exhale, as she flipped open the entrance to the tent, grabbing hold of and revealing a girl, whose muffled cries could be heard through the towel in her mouth as she helplessly struggled against the woman’s grasp. “But in order to do that... we must make, and survive, sacrifice,” And with that, a loud crack ripped through the audience, as the woman crushed the girl’s neck, and dropped her to the ground. Her remains then began to dissipate into the sky like ash, and suddenly, the earth began to rumble, and the audience began to scatter in a panic, frantically screaming and shoving their ways through the people around them, at broken attempts to escape the scene. “I’m sorry, Elody, I needed you to die,” the woman whispered, turning her gaze to the sky. As people tried to leave, they would be stopped in their tracks, their feet planted to the ground, their heads forced to turn to the stage. The man on the left side of the stage’s eyes shimmered a sky blue, his gaze unfaltering, as it seemed to anchor everyone in place!

Violet's pupils shrank as she attempted to comprehend the events that just took place, and for an instant, all sound faded away; muffled as if she were drowning in an ocean of murky water. Her chest constricted and the numbness spread like wildfire. "Your parents saw their fair share of public executions too, so why are you so shaken?" Something loomed over her back with a snide expression. The illusion of her other self. Taunting, whispering coldly in her ear, yet Violet was in no state to retort. Inherited memories of countless deaths flickered through her mind, as if ceaselessly beckoning for Violet to submit her will and reason to fear. This was the first time she had laid witness to death first hand, and it had clearly triggered something she could never have prepared for... She felt sick to her stomach and her vision increasingly tunnelled towards the stage, fading outwards into a spiralling blackness. "What the hell..." She mumbles her words, fighting her own body in order to steady herself and prepare to do something—anything—but by the time she had resolved herself to move herself even a tiny bit, her feet had already been frozen in place.

As the people took their places on stage, something passed through Kisaiya, like a wave of distrust. She tensed, her eyes widening, and her breath catching in her throat. She held perfectly still, only half listening to the speech. There was more to it than what they could see. She glanced around the area, the crowd, searching faces to see if anyone else felt that.
She glanced back to the speaker just in time to see her bring out and kill the little girl. Kisaiya cursed, grabbing Dymtre's sleeve and turning back to Amon'i. Her red eyes were wide. "Dymtre! Grab my hand, don't let go!" She slid her hand from his sleeve down, clasping his fingers tightly.
That MONSTER just KILLED somebody!
She meshed her teeth together as the crowd began to surge and stared at her Knight. What did she do here? Run? Stay and fight?
...could they fight?

Dymtre could feel something was off... but before he could vocalize it he heard a sound he had never heard before, then the sound of a body hitting the ground. "Kisaiya... What..." He couldn't complete his question as tears started to drip from under his blindfold. His hand clasping Kisayia's. His heart was broken, he heard the final words from the woman and knew what had happened. "No... NO!" Dymtre Yelled! Then he would transform in to his Angelic Form, He would still yell only this time the world would fill with silence! Angel Form: Upon activation Dymtre takes on his Embodiment Form becoming a 6-winged Angel with a whip-sword. While in this form he can opt to close his wings completely allowing him to move freely. After activating Dymtre can no longer speak, rather every time he opens his mouth all sound in the surrounding area is canceled out weakening all Qi abilities by 100% his Eng stat

Jani moved through the crowd of people quickly, not in a fashion that drew attention to herself but in enough of a fashion that told people to get the hell out of her way. Dressed in a black blazer with her hair down, she was both skeptical and eager to see what in the world the corrupt city political parties were up to now. For the powerless and powerful to unite, many things had to happen... Janiya was only worried it would be a mass purge. Making her way to the stage, she waited with crossed arms and wide smile as she pondered about what was going to happen.
She wanted to be in front and up close, just in case it was actually a purge or killing of some sort. At the very least she could help get some people out of here.
Unfortunately, the spectacle that took place before her eyes only confirmed her concerns as she watched a little girl die on stage at the hands of the well dressed woman. She gritted her teeth, brows furling in irritation. This was all too familiar to her, and up until the last part, she agreed with what was said. The crowd around her began to leave, then halt their escape as something anchored them- and herself- in one spot. Now staring directly at the three individuals, she opened her mouth to speak but no sound escaped her lips. Focusing her chi into one hand, a yellow sword made of energy began to form as Jani waited to move again patiently.

Effigy observed from the back, listening to the speech play out. This was not what he was expecting at all. Granted he was not sure of the moral compass of the group he affiliated with, but Amil didn't give off the revolutionary vibe. Though he didn't care much regardless, this would certainly smear meta relations regardless of intent.
When it got to the murder, something about it felt strange. It felt personal. It was another unexpected moment in a stream of unexpected events. Speaking of which his feet were now bound to the ground... rigggghhhht as things were ready to start happening. So much for preperation.
Effigy would remain calm and try moving his feet for now, hoping maybe the effects were temporary

As soon as Soni saw the murder, her heart froze. Her whole body wanted to freeze. Her blood ran cold and her lungs seemed to be just as in shock as she was. In the back of her mind she could hear the words of a meta she met: "...people are getting hurt, and not a damn person is doing anything!" They were right; nothing was changing. But this was a new world now. She didn't change enough in the last one; this was her chance. Soni launched herself off the building, and landed on the stage with another blast to slow her down. Coming up from the summersault, she sent out a sonic blast to the blue eyed man! If any of the others on stage attempted to attack, they would notice Soni would be wrapped in a vortex of protective concussive sound! [Qi uses remaining: 16/20
Sonokinetic Launch: By projecting sound behind her, Soni pushes herself forward adding 1/2 her Eng in speed. She can also use it as a burst that sends her flying in whatever specified direction. (x2)
Sonic Blast: A directed blast of dense sound, typically beginning from a single point then growing outward quickly to create a funnel shape, though doesn't grow anymore than the size of your typical torso. 100% Eng in DMG
Sound Aura: A tornado of pure sound spinning around Soni. (DEF + 1/2 ENG) Anyone inside also takes 100% ENG in DMG.]

As soon as the speaker grabbed the little girl, fate flashed in Amon'i's eyes. She knew where this was going, and instinctively, she drew her blade, only to realize that after the body had been dropped, she was unable to move her legs.
As Kisaiya turned to her, she would notice a particular cold visage she had never seen before, one that was filled with anger and vengeance.
Taking a quick glance along the stage, she gave a solemn nod, before acknowledging her angel.
"You must transform. Whatever these people are planning, it is certainly of no good, and it is our duty to stop it, or at the very least, put up a fight to allow the civilians to run to safety. But first, we must free ourselves,"

As the woman turned her gaze to the sky, a wave of darkness shrouded the lively blue and white, the warmth and light of the sun momentarily consumed. All at once, it seemed to swirl together into a massive black hole, planted high noon in the sky, where a white pupil esque dot appeared in the center. On top of all of the chaos, the entire city would feel exposed, as if they were being watched by an unexplainable presence.
And at that moment, the ground stopped shaking.
"And so begins the hour of revelation," the woman murmured, almost weakly, into the microphone. She seemed to be uninterested in the crowd, however, the other two continued to stare on, grinning at all the meek prey, submitting to the weight of the world.
Dymtre activating his angel form only resulted in pulling the attention of the woman on the right, whose dead, black gaze would send shivers down his spine. She smiled a little smile, tilting her head to one side as if contemplating an attack.
It wasn't until Soni landed on the stage that the three individuals turned their collective attention away from the crowd. As the man looked away, the crowd would be unanchored, allowing them free movement. The speaker shot her hand out in front of Soni's attack, the energy practically dissipating in her palm, before she walked behind the large, covered mass sitting on the back of the stage. Soni would be snagged midair by a black tendril that seemed to shoot out from a small portal beneath her, and the pale skinned, slender woman raised an index finger at her, waving it from side to side in a mocking "tsk-tsk" motion.
And then, as people began evading the scene, hissing erupted from nearby storm drains, manholes, and alleyways, and spewing out of them was a thick, almost transparent, gaseous substance. It burned at the skin of all it touched, and made breathing difficult, but otherwise, it just seemed to pose as an inconvenience. However, it was probably a bad idea to stay in direct contact with it for an extended period of time...

Soni glared at the woman whose finger shook at her, and as she glared, she cast a sonic blast behind the girl's back!

Finally having been released from the ground and seeing other metas going to deal with the root issue, Violet instead makes the call to try and help the crowd navigate to safety. Using either the stalls or barricades as vantage points, she will do her best to organise the crowd away from the suspicious miasma towards safer locations away from the event.

Kisaiya looked at Amon'i, and for a moment, there was genuine panic in her eyes. Transform? Angel? She shuddered at the very thought and turned to stare hard at Dymtre. Duty... She didn't know if she could do that. Not here, not now. Not surrounded by so many panicking people.
She meshed her teeth together and turned to stare hard at the stage for a moment, shaking. She had to do something, but she wasn't sure what.
"Amon'i. Do you have a weapon other than your sword?" She asked. The only weapon she knew of was her Scythe... and she could only access that in her Angel form. There had to be another way.

Dymtre would gently squeeze Kisaiya's hand to get her attention when she looked at him he would point at the woman staring at him. He never broke his gaze instead handing Kisiaya his walking stick. Then he would leap into the air and flap all six of his wings to fly directly for the woman!
