Frowning at Rie maintaining the distance between them, she nodded.
"I guess... that's fair. I also do not trust you enough to let you anywhere near him..." She glanced towards Indrid, who was still cackling and murmuring things under his breath. No doubt curses, insults, and plots to declaw this cat. She was surprised Indrid remained neutral thus far; part of her was a bit concerned, a quiet Indrid was a scheming Indrid, But still, Aarica wanted to know more.
"You're just another lost soul, right? We at least have that neutral ground. What would it take for you to trust me a little?"

Ripley fell silent as she contemplated that question. She pressed her lips together in thought. She didn't trust this ghost, and had no real reason to: she was protecting a man who had murdered a kid just to learn more about his Nen. What would stop them from turning and doing the same to her?
"Trust goes both ways," she said, then, and waited to see what Aarica would do with that statement.

Aarica pondered her words for only a total of two seconds before shaking her head. She didn't agree. "Not for us," she said, crossing her arms tightly. "But I'll entertain the idea. Brother?"
Indrid, who was in his own twisted world, glanced at his undead sister with minor irritation. "Can you come here for a moment?" Without missing a beat, Indrid got to his feet and walked over to her, his shoes trailing blood as he did so. Whoops.
When he was a few feet away, Aarica sprinted at him, grabbed his head and slammed it into the ground with force... at least, that's what it looked like. In reality, she gently forced him down with one hand and hit the ground hard with her other, making it look like she seriously injured Indrid. Turning back to their guest, she stood back up, leaving Indrid face down and still on the ground.
"He won't get up, he's now in need or repairs," she said to Rie, hoping to god Indrid didn't do something stupid, "Your turn."

Rie cocked an eyebrow. The ghost had JUST said that she loved him, that she wanted to protect him. And what was this shit about him needing repairs? What was he, an android or something? She eyed him carefully for just a second before turning to Aarica once more.
She placed her hands on her hips, putting the hilt of her sword within easy range, but made no move to draw the weapon. How was she supposed to go about this? She wasn't going to admit to her Nen, that was for damn sure. Especially considering she wasn't even totally sure how it worked herself.
"I'm an aristocrats daughter turned street rat," she finally said, making sure to show just the right amount of hesitation, as if it was a secret she wasn't sure she wanted to share. "I'm a criminal. And not a small time one, either. Big enough to walk through gang territory without anybody pestering me to pick a side."

Indrid restrained himself, holding back his homicidal urges. He wasn't a fan of those who wallowed in the streets, to him, they all were wastes of spaces just waiting to be subjugated, to be used by him for the greater world he was making. For all the time he spent with doctors and prestigious scientists, they were outside waging petty wars and committing misdemeanors for the lesser world... he didn't understand why his sister spent so much time and resources with the likes of them.
Aarica briefly looked at a still unmoving Indrid, sensing his uncomfort, before turning back to Rie. From her lone eye, a few tears trickled down her cheek. Her statement reminded her of herself when she was alive: her old life, when she could feel pain and pleasure. When life actually had risks. The feelings didn't last long. She wasn't alive anymore, and she had greater aspirations, but... she did still respect those who still roamed the streets.
She wiped her tears away, nodding. "So that was what you were hiding. It may not be what I wanted to hear, but to me it's still just valuable." Aarica raised a hand, offering a handshake. "From the daughter of a millionaire turned alleyway scientist... truce, for now?"

Ripley saw the tears, but they confused her more than anything. Her brows furrowed as she stared at the extended hand. Was it a trick? A trap of some sort? She hesitated a moment before reaching out. It was a risk she would have to take... and so far, the ghost had been... friendly? Ish.
"From one lost soul to another," she murmured, taking the Revnant's hand.

Aarica shook Rie's hand firmly as behind her, Indrid slowly got up to his feet, staring absolute daggers at both of them. Unfortunately there wasn't much he could do, especially if his sister was so adamant on some petty truce.
"I'm leaving, Aarica," Indrid said, beginning to walk off in the opposite direction, flinging his scarf over his shoulders. "I need more supplies for my studies."
"Okay," Aarica called back, not really caring. She'd catch up. "You probably still don't trust me... so... I guess our truce will last until you do Rie."

Ripley stared at the Revenant for a moment. Indrid getting up like he did only served to reinforce her complete lack of trust. She wiggled her fingers at him as he walked off, but didn't expect him to see it. After all, she had barely paid any attention to him at all.
"Then it will probably last a while." She gave the ghost a simple nod, expecting her to... fly off, or disappear, or some other ghostly exit.
