She stared at his hand as if it were a snake, groaning and rolling her eyes. She crossed her arms over her chest, defiant once more, and gave a fierce shake of her head that sent all of her bells tingling.
"Of course it is. Should have known it was you. What other person my age would be here?" She scoffed at her own foolishness. How had she allowed herself to spend time with him, the boy that was taking her away from her family? How dare she almost LIKE him, and his stupid naivety? She huffed.
"My name is Kisaiya Vadoma Roma-Belle."

Dymtre's smile widened!
"Oh! It's you! Wait just a moment I have something for you!"
He would say as he jumped up rushing over to a specific statue it might surprise her with how much ease he went to the locations and even as he started rifling around the things there, it was as if he wasn't blind at all. However after a short moment she would hear the sounds of bells ringing and coins clinking together. He would turn around keeping the noise behind his back as he carefully made his way back to her.
"Uhm... I was told that it was customary for... well that is..."
He blushed a little as he held out the Betrothal Necklace.
"This is for you. It is customary for the Groom to be to fashion a necklace like this in your culture, and while the priests weren't too keen on the idea I thought it was a really sweet gesture. So... Well... I hope you like it. I can't really see how it turned out."

Keza stared at him as he moved, shocked by his grace. In that moment, he reminded her... well, of a dancer. She quickly quelled the excitement that rose at that thought, keeping her arms crossed as she glared at him.
"Accepting that necklace would mean accepting our engagement," she hissed.
"Kisaiya..." A woman's voice spoke up, and Keza looked up to see her mother approach from around the corner, followed by the Priests. She knelt down beside her daughter, raising a hand to gently stroke her white blonde hair. The woman couldn't have been more opposite from her daughter: skin tanned by the sun, dark eyes and hair, and a bit on the rounder side. She smiled and said something softly to the girl, in the language of her people, before reaching out to accept the necklace.
Keza didn't fight it as her mother secured the necklace around her neck, though there was defiance written all across her youthful features.
"Young boy... Gift here, is sweet. Kind. Good job." The mother praised him in broken English, before standing. She left Keza to examine the necklace she wore, before moving to Dymtre. "Come, now. Walk. We have much to discuss."

The look of hurt brushed his features at her harsh words. Though by the time Kisaiya looked back at Dymtre the expression was completely gone once again replaced by his soft smile.
"Yes ma'am, uh... do you mind if we had one of the priests join us? If we are leaving this garden I will need someone to help guide me..."
He would say sheepishly.

"I will guide, child," she said, fondness in her tone. She approached him and reached out to gently take his hand, placing it on her arm. Keza jolted at the sight, her bells ringing through the air, but a single look from her mother had her settling back into place.
"This is talk for you and for me. No other ears. Yes?"

Dymtre nodded.
"In that case I thank you very much for the assistance."
He would say as he followed the older woman's lead.

The Roma woman led him out of the garden, leaving her daughter with the Priests. She walked until she was certain she was out of earshot of the others before speaking.
"Take time with my girl," she murmured softly, a smile upon her lips. "She gives up much for this, all she has known. Roma blood is strong in her."

His smile became one of sadness.
"I understand. It must be hard to give up everything, especially for someone you don't even know."
He would say as they walked along.
"But I promise to be patient. I will wait as long as it takes, if it is truly our destiny to be united then I will be as a patient as stream working it's way back to the ocean. It may take time and will likely be difficult at multiple times, but I will keep going till I've become one with my Destiny."

"She will never love you if your love is only for Destiny," the woman said, sounding almost amused as she spoke. She placed her other hand gently on top of his.
"Learn her, so you can love her. Learn traditions, and her moods. Let this start for Destiny, but if you want love... then learn her, love her, and she will come to love, too. Yes?"

"I... think I understand. So... if I learn to love her, will that make her happy?"
He asked curiously. He was raised to follow his destiny the only talk of love that he had ever heard was that given upon humans by the Angels.

She patted his hand gently. "In time, if you learn her, she will learn you. Love, child. This is important. You will not learn of love here... Here, you will learn Gift, and Destiny. But times come when you Travel, like us. When you do, you will see Keza as we see Keza. I hope you will learn love then, in dancing and talk. You may not know love, but learn love, like you will learn her."
The woman paused in her walk, then, and fetched out a long, silk handkerchief. Gently, she rubbed the soft material across his hand.
"This, you shall keep. Travellers, we give gifts. This is first gift, for you. This, you keep with you, hold close to you, and never let her see. When you know love, and know her, and know love because of her... That is when you marry, yes? Wait until you know love, in your heart, and when the word love is the same as the word Keza in your heart. When that is true... you give this to her, and the next day, you become one, in marriage but also in love. Yes?"

He pondered her words for a moment holding the silk she had given him. Rubbing it with his thumb. Learning the fabric.
"So, what your saying is. Love... is more than just Destiny and Happiness... but something else. Something... More? And that I need to learn what love is, and I need to learn who Kisaiya, and then I need to learn how to make the two become one in the same... and when Kisaiya becomes Love to me, that is when I will give her this and we will be married. Correct?"
He asked curiously if he understood correctly.

The woman nodded enthusiastically, the bells of her own scarves jingling. "Yes! Yes, good. This is good. This gift, it is gift you give her when you love her. It will give her a piece of home to hold to, and will let her know we agree... It will give her permission to love you, for the rest as you both live."
She patted his hand again, leaning forward to place a gentle kiss upon his forehead. "You learn fast, child. I believe there to be Traveler in you as well."

His smiled widened as he was told he understood. Then he blushed at the kiss, such things were foreign to him in a place as this and it filled him with a warmth he hadn't felt before.
"Then I promise I will do just that."
He said, his voice full of determination.
"I will grow and learn and learn to love her as love itself, and when I do I will remind her of you and her whole family. I promise!"

The woman laughed, a noise not unlike the bells she wore. She reached both arms around him to embrace him, holding him against her.
"We leave her to you, then. Take care of my Keza. Angel, yes. But she is my child, and I am giving her to you, now."
Releasing him, she placed his hand on her arm once more.
"Tonight is feast, and there we give more gifts. These gifts are give to you first... Silk, lessons, and my child. First, because they are most important. Now, we show you new lesson. We teach you to feast like a Traveler!"

His smile couldn't be brighter as he her laugh filled him with joy.
"I can't wait!"
He would exclaim, so many strangers and new customs and it was all so exciting, already he had learned so much!
